Once upon a time in a small village deep in the mountains. Every year, as autumn drew to a close, the villagers began to prepare for winter. They collected wood, knitted warm sweaters, and prepared their homes for the cold season. But despite all of these preparations, the onset of winter seemed to come as a surprise every year.

One year, the village elder decided it was time to make a change. He called all the villagers to a meeting and announced: “Dear villagers, we need to prepare better for winter. Every year we are surprised when the first snow falls. This must change!”

The villagers nodded in agreement and decided to come up with a plan. They formed committees for wood collection, winter clothing, and house insulation. Everyone had a job, and everyone worked hard to make sure they were better prepared this year.

But when the first snow fell, the villagers were once again surprised. “How could this happen?” they asked themselves. “We planned everything so well!”

The village elder shook his head and laughed. “It seems that the onset of winter will always be a surprise, no matter how well we prepare. Maybe it’s because we want to enjoy the beauty of the first snow every year.”

And so the villagers decided to see the onset of winter as a welcome surprise. They celebrated the first snow with a big party, drinking hot cocoa and telling stories around the fire. From then on, the onset of winter was no longer just a challenge, but also a reason for joy.

And so the story ends with the realization that some surprises are simply beautiful, even if they come every year.
